THE BEST OF EGYPTIAN COTTONS

Giza 45 is considered as the best amongst the Egyptian Extra-Long Staple cottons. Exceptional for the length, fineness and strength of its fibres, it is ideal for achieving superfine yarn counts.

The fibres of Giza 45 cotton have a very long length (35 mm), with a uniformity index of 88.5% combined with an exceptional fineness, on average 2.9 Micronaire. From this combination, very high-quality yarns are obtained, which are extraordinarily fine, uniform and resistant.

THE CULTIVATION

The plants of Giza 45 are grown in a small area east of the Nile delta, where the special climatic conditions and the fertility of the soil allow the production of one of the best cottons in the world. This cotton is harvested by hand and has an average annual production of one hundred bales, which represents the 0.4% of the total Egyptian annual production of cotton.

ICA Yarns plays an active role in the cultivation of Giza 45 in Egypt and has a direct control of the production, inspecting every single batch and ensuring high quality standards.
