Bemberg™ Cupro

THE RAW MATERIAL

Cupro is a regenerated fibre made from cotton linter – the fuzz around the cotton seed – a raw material that is pre-consumer material.

Bemberg™ is the brand name for Cupro fibre from Asahi Kasei. Asahi Kasei uses its proprietary technologies to refine and dissolve the linter that is not normally used as fibre, transforming it into pure regenerated fibre. Made from a natural material, Bemberg™ is a biodegradable and compostable fibre that breaks down naturally after disposal.

FEATURES

Bemberg™ is a material with both the gentleness of a natural fibre as well as the functionality of a chemical fibre.

Made of fibres with an almost perfectly round cross-section and a smooth surface, Bemberg™ yarn doesn’t irritate the skin and allows smooth movement.

With the high moisture content of its fibres, Bemberg™ has built-in air-conditioning, keeping the wearer comfortable regardless of the season.

Bemberg™ gained high recognition for environmental and chemical safety practices in Asahi Kasei traceable production system, as well as for the contribution to a recycling pre-consumer waste.

In 2017 Bemberg™ acquired the GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certification by Textile Exchange.

Bemberg™ is a trademark or registered trademark of Asahi Kasei Corporation – B90X200
