CELLULOSIC & SYNTHETIC

TENCEL™

TENCEL™ cellulosic fibres of botanic origin set out a new standard of sustainability and natural comfort.

TENCEL™ branded Lyocell and Modal fibres help to maintain the environmental balance by being integrated into nature’s cycle:

  • The fibres originate from the renewable raw material wood created by photosynthesis;
  • The certified bio-based fibres are manufactured in an environmentally responsible production process;
  • The standard fibres are certified as compostable and biodegradable and thus can fully revert back to nature.

Bemberg™ Cupro

Cupro is a regenerated fibre made from cotton linter – the fuzz around the cotton seed – a raw material that is pre-consumer material.

Bemberg™ is the brand name for Cupro fibre from Asahi Kasei. Asahi Kasei uses its proprietary technologies to refine and dissolve the linter that is not normally used as fibre, transforming it into pure regenerated fibre. Made from a natural material, Bemberg™ is a biodegradable and compostable fibre that breaks down naturally after disposal.

SEACELL™

Seacell™ fiber was born in response to the increasingly damaging impact that man has on the environment. The fiber is produced with intimate blend with Lyocell and Modal, respectively creating SeaCell™ LT e SeaCell™ MT. They are both composed by sustainable raw materials such as wood and seaweed by using patented methods that save energy and resources that make the fiber totally biodegradable.

SeaCell™ MT is created starting from a Modal based advanced technology, a process that makes the fiber easy to work and at the same time maintains the same beneficial properties of the revolutionary SeaCell™ LT fiber with Lyocell base. The seaweed used for Seacell™ creation are harvested in a sustainable way: only the portion that is able to rigenerate is taken, and after the harvesting process algae don’t receive any treatment in order to preserve all the natural and beneficial properties.

The fiber creation process includes the drying phase at first, then the pulverization and finally the embedding of the seaweed to the nature based cellulose. This process allows the mantainance of all the properties of raw materials used on the fiber.

Wood and pulp used by the Lenzing Group comes from semi-natural forests and sustainably managed plantations. All LENZING™ fibres are available with FSC® (C041246) or PEFC™ certification upon request.
